The project consisted of improving the soil in the area where the construction of an industrial warehouse for Freund was planned. This would then allow the construction of a direct foundation that would serve to transmit the loads of the industrial building.
The original project consisted of a deep foundation system. However, Rodio Swissboring together with Menard proposed the application of Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC’s) as an alternative to improve the bearing capacity of the project land and to be able to build a direct foundation system. Carrying out this redesign, it was possible to propose a faster and cheaper solution for the project.
