Project Description
The ALANZA Group commissioned Rodio Swissboring to build its new dock for the export of stone aggregates located in the most important port of Honduras, Puerto Cortés. For this, a design conceived by some of the world’s leading dock design firms, WSP USA inc., which was executed with the highest quality standards for the dock branch, was brought to life.
Solution
The construction of the Agrecasa pier was carried out by driving 102 piles of 914mm in diameter. These had a maximum depth of 40 meters, since they had to transmit the load of the structures to competent ground strata. To ensure that all the piles had the necessary strength to withstand the design loads, numerous pile load tests were carried out, analyzing results and obtaining capacities greater than 400 tons of load per pile.
